  Research:  Application of theoretical and empirical approaches including dynamic general equilibrium modelling and structural vector autoregression to topics related to monetary policy, unemployment, exchange rates and current account dynamics.

  Practice/application: As UCCS Economic Forum Director, Dr. Craighead tracks data on the local, state, and national economies and provides analysis to Economic Forum partners, local media and the public, including through the "Weekly Economic Snapshot" video series.

  Career info: M.A., Ph.D., University of Virginia; BA, Carleton College.  Previously held economics faculty appointments including at Colorado College and U.S. Air Force Academy.  Research published in peer-reviewed journals including Economic Inquiry, Journal of International Money and Finance, Open Economies Review.

  Research:  Applied Microeconomics, From the economics of Wine/Beer, to how attire affects how much students learn. 

  Practice/application:  I've worked on predicting future Success of NFL QB's, Central American Soccer, The Colorado Wine industry etc.  Honestly if it's interesting and involves data and incentives I'm in!
  Career info:  I've also consulted professionally.  Most recently I'm involved in copyright infringement work running focus groups for eventual damages claims, as well as the impact of sports on local markets.

  Areas of focus: My expertise is focuses primarily on regional entrepreneurial dynamics (both the creation and destruction of new ventures), local economic development, military veteran entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurial support organization (e.g., accelerators, incubators, and small business centers).

  Research: My research is covers a range of topics relevant to regional entrepreneurial dynamics including academic and university entrepreneurship and innovation, urban density, industry concentration, local competition, and access to capital

  Practice/application: My expertise is best shared with local entrepreneurs, high-growth ventures considering relocation, and local organization and economic development leaders

  Career info: Plummer holds a PhD in strategy and entrepreneurship from CU-Boulder.  Most recently, he was a professor of entrepreneurship at the top-ranked Ivey Business School in Ontario, Canada.

  Title: Director of Healing and Community Programs at the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience

  Areas of focus: Stress, trauma, and resilience! 

  Research: My research interests are primarily focused on self-efficacy, emergency responders, and stress and trauma. I attended the UCCS Clinical Psychology Masters program and published my thesis, The Capability for Suicide in Firefighters, in the Suicide and Life‐Threatening Behavior journal.

  Practice/application: I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and licensed addictions counselor (LAC) and currently oversee our clinical operations and community training programs. Our Institute focuses on healing stress and trauma in a multi-disciplinary approach and providing stress, trauma, and resilience education throughout the community.

  Career info: I have been part of the UCCS community since attending the UCCS Clinical Psychology Masters program in 2012. After graduating, I worked at a crisis center and alongside emergency responders to support community mental health and emergency calls. In 2020, I officially joined the Lyda Hill Insitute as Director of Community Training and Empowerment, leading several training programs rooted in stress education and resilience. Within this work, I was selected as a finalist for the Mayors young Leader award in 2021. In 2025, my position grew to include overseeing our clinical operations and advancing our presence in the Pikes Peak Region.
