PARENTS- Director's Den: Taco Thursday with Dr. Bell and Dr. Bell

No, that’s not a typo. In the next Director’s Den, Chris Beiswanger will be joined by one of UCCS’ many “campus couples” to talk with parents of prospective students.

Dr. Megan Bell is the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and a professor in the College of Education. Dr. Chris Bell is an Associate Professor of Media Studies in the Department of Communication. Join us to learn about how UCCS has evolved student engagement and support inside and outside of the classroom from the leadership and faculty perspective. We’ll also delve into Megan’s love of scarves and Chris’ passion for pop culture. 100% guarantee they will make fun of each other!

Tuesday, October 20 at 3:00pm MST Military and Veteran Transfer Information Session: Join us for a session specifically for veteran and military transfer students. Whether you are active duty or a veteran, we have helpful information for you including: when and how to apply to UCCS, how to apply for TA, how to transfer VA benefits, submitting your JST/CCAF transcripts, and support available on the UCCS campus. Bring your questions – we will have reps from Veteran & Military Student Affairs and the Admissions Office available to answer them.

Tuesday, October 20 at 8:00pm MST Transfer Student Panel: Come hear from current transfer students at UCCS. They will be ready to answer your questions and talk about what made their transfer process smooth, what they wish they knew about transferring before they did it, and how they have gotten involved at UCCS.

Wednesday, October 21 at 11:30am MST Transfer Students- Becoming a UCCS Mountain Lion: We'll walk you through everything you need to know about the University of Colorado Colorado Spring including: campus resources, application information, and important dates. We are excited to help you explore UCCS and help get you one step closer to your bachelor's degree!

Wednesday, October 21 at 1:00pm MST Concurrent Engineering Information Session for PPCC Transfer Students: Join UCCS and PPCC staff to learn about the Concurrent Engineering program for Pikes Peak Community College Transfer Students. We will explain how to successfully transfer your credits, when to start at UCCS, and help you explore the different flavors of Engineering at UCCS.

Friday, October 23 at 12:00pm MST Transfer Students- Achieve New Heights While Finishing Your Bachelor's Degree: Ready for new outdoor adventures and enjoying the Colorado lifestyle? Come learn what it take to live in Colorado Springs. We have tips for students looking to relocate to Colorado Springs to finish their degree. This crash course will be 15 minutes.

This 15 minute session will give you a glimpse of what Spring semester will look like at UCCS. Come learn about the 6 different modes of instruction students can choose from and other important steps in the transfer enrollment process to ensure you are prepared for Spring!

Friday, October 23 at 12:30pm MST Transfer Students- How much does it cost for mountain views? Come learn about on campus and off campus housing. Don't worry if you can't afford the mountain views you can sit just about anywhere on campus and admire the mountains. After 15 minutes you’ll be ready to search for your perfect new digs.

Friday, October 23 at 12:45pm MST Transfer Students- The ABC's of Scholarships: This 15 minute session will highlight key scholarships for transfer students while walking you through the scholarship application process!

Friday, October 23 at 4:00pm MST Will my credits transfer??? There's a lot of questions when it comes to transferring, but this is probably the biggest one! Learn about all of the resources that are available to help you understand your transfer credit, and get connected with people who can help you make sure you are on the right track!
