Undergraduate Certificates in Health Professional Post-Bac

The Health Professions Post-Bac certificate program with tracks will provide a pathway for students with a prior bachelor's degree to complete the courses typically needed for graduate health professional school. These students may be recent graduates who decided to pursue healthcare careers late in their undergraduate academic journey or those who have been working in another field and have decided to pivot to a different career. In addition to coursework, the certificate program will provide opportunities for clinical experience, research, community service, and professional development. The certificate will be the first of its kind in southern Colorado and aligns with UCCS's vision of broadening access to higher education for the benefit of southern Colorado, the state, the nation, and the world. It also coincides with our core values of student focus, innovation, and dynamic, responsible growth.

General Requirements

• A minimum of 22 credit hours must be completed at UCCS once admitted into the certificate program.
• A minimum 3.0 semester GPA must be maintained while in the certificate program. Failure to do so will result in removal from the program.
• A grade of "C-" or better is required for all courses applied to the certificate.

Notes:

1. HPNU 4910 is recommended but not required. If taken, it will add 1 hour to the total hours for the certificate. 
2. Where "Statistics Course" is listed as a course requirement, choose one of the following:

• BIOL 3000 Biostatistics or
• HPNU 2100 Statistics and Research Methods or
• MATH 3100 Statistics for the Sciences or
• PSY 2100 Introduction to Psychological Statistics
