Writing Center

Welcome

Message from the Director

Writing is an essential skill to develop throughout your life, regardless of your career path or professional interests. Our goal at the Excel Writing Center is to help you become a stronger writer through practice, revision, and critical thinking.

We are NOT a drop-off or editing service, but we would be more than happy to collaborate with you to strengthen your writing skills.

The Writing Center helps students from all classes and majors across the University. We do accept walk-ins, but you are not guaranteed an appointment with a consultant unless you have signed up online. Additionally, we stop accepting walk-ins 30 minutes before we close for the day, so plan ahead! The Writing Center is also a great place to study. We have plenty of computers, a printer, and free coffee & tea.

My office is located in the Writing Center, and I’m always happy to chat. We can talk about writing, reading, classes, even career goals. Maybe you’d be interested in working at the Writing Center as a peer consultant. The Writing Center is located in Columbine Hall 316; my office is in the back of the center.
