A Network Access Control (NAC) is a system which helps secure an enterprise-grade wireless network by protecting connected clients and the services the network has to offer by enforcing a set of policies. For a new user to be able to utilize the UCCS-Wireless wireless network, a small policy key checker client called SafeConnect needs to be installed on the user's device.
Policy Key Checker Client
For the NAC to ensure and verify that the latest OS Updates have been applied and that Antivirus software is running and its definitions are up to date, a very small light weight client software is required to be running on the user's system in order for them to have full and continued access to the UCCS-Wireless network. This small client software only needs to be installed once, and the user will be prompted to download this client when they first try to connect and use UCCS-Wireless. If a user is having issues installing this client, please contact the OIT Helpdesk at (719) 255-3536 or visit the OIT Help Desk in person located at room EPC 108.
