Geoffrey Kent



Geoffrey Kent is a Fight Director, Certified Teacher and the former President of the Society of American Fight Directors, the largest organization of stage combatants in the world. He is the resident Fight Director for the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the Colorado Shakespeare Festival and has created violence for Opera, Ballet and Theatre across the United States and for all of the professional companies in Colorado. Geoffrey received a Henry Award for his ongoing work as a Fight Director in 2012.

He has instructed stage combat for UCCS, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Northern Colorado, the University of Denver, Louisiana State University, the University of Alabama, the North Carolina School of the Arts and the National Theatre Conservatory.

An award winning Director, Geoffrey has staged several productions for Theatreworks including The Grapes of Wrath, The 39 Steps and You Can’t Take it With You. Other directing work includes A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Tempest and the Comedy of Errors for CSF, She Kills Monsters and Metamorphoses for the Aurora Fox and Cowboy Macbeth for Listen productions.
