Jazz and Improvisation Ensemble

Mr. Cully Joyce was born in Charleston, SC and attended college at North Texas State University, studying jazz performance under Rich Matteson, Dan Haerle and other faculty. Post-college, he joined the U.S. Air Force Band, touring with elite ensembles throughout the world and giving featured performances for various heads of state/dignitaries.  In 2009, Mr. Joyce retired from the Air Force after more than twenty years performing, arranging, and leading/directing groups.  He and/or his arrangements have been featured on over forty recordings, and he's performed with jazz legends Wycliffe Gordon, Marv Stamm, Chris Vadala, John Faddis, Michael Abene and Rufus Reid to name a few.  Additionally, Mr. Joyce has arranged music for such diverse performers as Wynonna Judd, Ernie Watts, Faith Hill, the Macon Symphony, the Falconaires, Christ Church Choir, and numerous Air Force ensembles.  Today, he continues to arrange for musicians throughout the country and perform as a freelance woodwind artist/jazz saxophonist in Colorado.
