Visual Art Option (concentration declared starting Fall 2019)

Visual Art Concentration Breakdown: 60 credits

  • 42 in Visual Art
  • 9 in Art History

Visual Art Requirements: 42 credits

VA Foundations Requirements: 12 credit
*The core must be completed before enrolling in 2000/3000/4000 level visual art courses.

  • VA 1010: 2D Foundations
  • VA 1020: 3D Foundations
  • VA 1030: Digital Foundations
  • VA 1040: Drawing Foundations

VA Lower Division Electives: 9 credits

  • VA 2000 (any)
  • VA 2000 (any)
  • VA 2000 (any)

VA Upper Division Electives & Requirements: 21 credits
*Any VA 3000/4000 level class (except VA 3980 and 4980) can be taken twice for credit (6 hours towards a student's degree). In addition, up to 8 credit hours of VA 9400: Independent Study can be used towards a students degree.

  • VA 3980: Seminar in Studio Problems 
    Offered ONLY during the SPRING term. Concurrent enrollment with AH 3860 during a student's JUNIOR year is REQUIRED.
  • VA 4980: Professional Seminar (Capstone)
    Offered ONLY during the SPRING term. Prerequisites: VA 3980 and AH 3860. Enrollment during a student's SENIOR year is REQUIRED.
