Faculty get grants to improve teaching

Four UCCS faculty members recently received $500 grants to assist them in improving their classroom teaching, including Haleh Abghari, instructor, Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Abghari will purchase musical instruments from various world cultures and use them to demonstrate differences and similarities in music.[...]

Whitehead to perform world premiere

Glen Whitehead, associate professor, Department of Visual and Performing Arts, and director of the music program, will perform the world premiere of a trumpet concerto composed by Sean Hennessy at the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs 30th Anniversary Gala concert. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Cornerstone Arts Center at Colorado College.
