Alex has been with the university since 2015 and is currently the Case Manager for the Office of Dean of Students. In this role, Alex supports the functions of the office through student outreach, advocacy and crisis response while serving as a core member of the campus Student Response Team. Prior to this role, Alex worked in Residence Life where he managed residence halls, supervised Resident Assistants and worked on the development and implementation of the residential curriculum, expedition. Alex has served on the Staff Association for the last two years as a co-chair for the Welcome Committee, where he and his team have welcomed almost 200 of the new staff members to the Mountain Lion Family. Alex earned a B.A. in Strategic Communications (a hybrid of Advertising and Public Relations) with a minor in Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma and a M.A. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from UCCS. Alex's philosophy as a Student Affairs Professional focuses on the power of connection. Alex hopes to serve and work alongside the UCCS community by connecting the needs and desires of the staff to the various resources the university has to offer. Alex hopes to positively impact the experience on an already thriving and vibrant campus community through service on the Staff Association Board.
