Matt Getze oversees SPA's eLearning, designs online and blended courses, trains faculty on teaching, develops & conducts technological and pedagogical workshops, provides marketing services, and produces media and digital content, including social media presence and strategy, photography, and creating, filming & producing promotional videos.
Background: Matt brings a rich background of education, business, and technology experience to SPA. Prior to SPA, Matt was the Assistant Director of Technology and Programming at the University of Notre Dame's foreign language center, where he (co-) developed programs, including the TESOL Certificate, the center's community-based learning programs, and the center's marketing initiatives. He also co-developed hybrid courses with faculty, and developed and conducted technology workshops for foreign language faculty university- and community-wide. Matt also served as a technology coordinator at Fox Interactive Media. Before Fox, Matt managed the marketing campaigns for Showtime Networks Inc's home entertainment division and was Showtime's employee of the year in 2005 (Los Angeles headquarters).
Travel: A world traveler and a foodie, Matt shares his zeal for life and adventure in his travel website, which chronicles his travel experiences and serves as a practical travel guide. As a result of his travels, Matt has been profiled in the New York Times Travel.
In his travels, Matt produced and filmed Study Abroad in Africa.
