The sociology department has one recruitment scholarship available for out-of-state graduate students who are paying full non-resident tuition (if they receive in-state tuition because of WGRP, military, OTC, etc. the applicants are not eligible).  The scholarship provides a $4000/year grant ($2000/semester for fall and spring) and $4000 Teaching Assistantship ($2,000/semester for fall and spring).  Students are eligible for the scholarship if they are enrolled full time (5 or more credit hours) in a UCCS graduate program and are a first year graduate student who has a 3.33 or greater undergraduate GPA. Students do not need to apply separately for this scholarship.  The Graduate Director will review submitted applications in the spring semester and will submit a list of qualified applicants to the sociology faculty.  The faculty will then review each applicant's file and select one student to receive the Out of State Recruitment Scholarship.  Additional scholarships/fellowships are available through the Graduate School.  Please use the link below to access a list of financial resources available through the Graduate School:

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ MA program in Sociology is also a member of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). As a benefit, residents of WICHE’s 16 member states and territories throughout the Western U.S. can attend UCCS’s graduate program in sociology, paying in-state tuition (waiving non-resident fees).
