Stress and Trauma Assessment Research Study Part 2: The Role of the Trauma Memory (STARS 2)

  • Purpose:

    The purpose of this study is to learn more about how factors such as repetitive and involuntary thoughts about a traumatic event, as well as the importance of that event in a person's life, affect their memory and the narrative they construct about the event.

     

  • Design:

    This study involves completion of approximately 15-30 minutes of online questionnaires, and an in-person study visit. In-person testing time will last approximately 2-2.5 hours and will involve participating in cognitive tests and writing narratives about a traumatic experience and a non-traumatic experience.

  • Eligibility:

    Must have completed and met eligibility criteria for STARS 1

  • Compensation:

    Participants will be compensated either $15 if recruited from the community or 4 credits via Sona if they are a student at UCCS for participation in this study.  UCCS students can also opt to be paid $15 in lieu of Sona credit.
