Stress and Trauma Assessment Research Study (STARS 1)

  • Purpose

    This study plans to learn more about how factors like gender, risk-taking behaviors, psychological flexibility, and coping skills impact recovery from trauma and the development of posttraumatic stress symptoms.

  • Design

    The study involves an initial phone screening, followed by an in-person visit if eligible. If chosen to participate in the study you will be asked to come in for a more comprehensive testing battery and complete online questionnaires. In-person testing time will last approximately 2-2.5 hours.  Total testing time will be approximately 3-4 hours.

  • Eligibility
    • Must be 18-65 years old
    • Experienced a psychological trauma .
    • Able to read, comprehend, and speak English
  • Compensation

    Participants will be compensated either $25 if recruited from the community or 4 credits via Sona if they are a student at UCCS for participation in this study.  UCCS students can also opt to be paid $25 in lieu of Sona credit.
