Typhaceae - cat-tail family
narrow-leaved cattail, Typha angustifolia 2003 - 2013.  Destroyed 2014 when the Academic Office Building was built but some still exist in arroyo.


Ulmaceae - elm Family
Siberian elm, Ulmus pumila:  Possibly from cultivation in the 1920's  when McKay (1983) refers to all the landscaping done and elms are seen in early photos. This was a common tree planted in non-irrigated areas during this era.  1992 to 2017.  Common invasive.


Verbenaceae - verbena family
bigbract vervain, Verbena bracteata.  1992 to 2017.  Common weed in build up areas.


Viscaceae - Christmas mistletoe family
pineland dwarf mistletoe, Arceuthobium vaginatum. 2003.


Vitaceae - grape family
Virginia creeper, Parthenocissus quinquefolia.  2003  Possibly escaped from cultivation McKay 1983 page 96 refers to "ivy-trimmed walls" around 1925 and early photos show Virgina creeper.


Zygophyllaceae - Creosote-bush family
puncturevine, Tribulus terrestris. 2003 - 2017.  Colorado noxious weed species.

smooth horsetail, Equisetum laevigatum 2003 - 2013 in arroyo
