Gambel oak, Quercus gambelii.  Since original photos of UCCS show this area to be treeless these are most likely landscaped.


Pinaceae

pinyon pine, Pinus edulis.  Drainage area between LODG and BREC.

mugho pine, Pinus mugo. northeast side.

ponderosa pine, Pinus ponderosa.  Most are dying.

shrubby cinquefoil, Dasiphora fruticosa.

choke cherry, Prunus virginiana melanocarpa.

common mullein, Verbascum thapsus.  Naturalized vegetation.


Ulmaceae

Siberian elm, Ulmus pumila: Through out campus most likely excaping part of the original homesteads.
