Residence Hall Association has several committees that member(s) of the legislative Assembly can serve on. There are standing committees that have a member of the Residence Hall Association Executive Board on the committee. Committee members serve as the advocates for the students living on campus and work to improve university-managed housing. During the legislative assembly meetings Residence Hall Association members can choose which committee they would like to work with. All students who are members of these committees will have a leadership opportunity if they wish to apply to be the chair of their committee.
The programming committee is responsible for the planning and implementation of events and programs in the residence halls and on campus apartments. Programming committee is a great way to get involved on campus and helps plan activities for your friends and floor mates! This committee will be interactive and include discussions about new events and ways the events are advertised. The Vice President of Residence Hall Association will serve as a member of this committee.
The advertising committee is responsible for advertising events and meetings directly sponsored by the Residence Hall Association. The Vice President of Residence Hall Association will serve as a member of this committee. The committee is responsible for advertising to university managed housing areas and the students in those areas. This committee will work closely with the programming committee to promote events and programs in the halls. This is a great committee for students interested in graphic design, marketing, or have creative talents that they want to share.
The Fundraising committee is a source of income for Residence Hall Association. The fundraising committee will be responsible for raising the necessary finances for delegations to attend any state, regional or national conferences. The NCC and the Executive Admin will serve as members of the Fundraising Committee and will provide direction as needed. This committee is suited for students interested in money management, working with a budget, and networking with members of the larger campus community.
The conference committee is responsible for the organization and delegation of to attend any necessary housing conferences including but not limited to IACURH, NACURH and No Frills conferences. This committee will also be able to collaborate when necessary for conferences with the UCCS chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary. The NCC and the Exec Admin will serve as members of the conference committee and will provide guidance as needed. This conference is a good fit for students who want to start networking and enjoy building connections.
The food committee works closely with Dining and Food Service (DFS) to share comments and concerns of the residents eating at in the dining hall(s). This committee will work with Dining and Food Service at a minimum of once a month. The president of Residence Hall Association along with the Advisor of Residence Hall Association will serve as a member of this committee. This is a great committee for those that are interested in serving their fellow students, and working with Dining and Food Service.
The Advocacy Committee will be the representation of the residents living in university managed housing for concerns, suggestions and improvements in the residence halls or on campus apartments.
