Student ID: You will need to bring your UCCS student ID to be checked in. If you do not have your student ID, you can bring a valid government-issued ID instead, but having your student ID will expedite check in. You will also need your student ID to access the buildings.
Immunization Records: To live on campus, you will need to meet immunizations requirements. If you have not already provided proof of immunization or completed the waiver, please make sure you bring it for move in. For more information on meningitis, visit: http://www.uccs.edu/recwellness/health-services/immunizations/meningitis.html. Staff from the UCCS Wellness Center will be available to answer any questions and collect immunization records on move-in day.
Parking: A parking permit is already included in your housing fees, but you still need to register your car by 8:00 am on Monday, August 26th. Starting on Monday, your vehicle will be ticketed if it has not been registered or if it parked in a lot other than the residential parking spots in the Alpine Parking Garage. You can register your vehicle online through the Parking Services website beginning on August 6. There is no physical permit required, just the online registration. Parking will be stationed with other campus resources throughout the day if you have additional parking questions.
Refreshments and Lunch
On Tuesday, August 20th there will be several water stations set up in your Village for you to enjoy. Lunch will be served in the Lodge and Roaring Fork Dining Halls.
- The Lodge: time to be determined
- Roaring Fork: time to be determined
Regular dining hours will begin at 5pm Tuesday in the Lodge and Roaring Fork Dining Halls; you will need to bring your Student ID card in order to access the dining halls beginning Tuesday evening. Please check the informational boards for dining hours prior to the start of classes.
Dining hours will be posted on each of the floors in housing. Check out the online menu!
Housing Orientation and Clyde’s Kickoff
At 7:00pm on Tuesday, there will be an ice cream social in Summit Village for all residents; consult your RA for more details.
All resident students are asked to check-in by noon on Wednesday, August 21st. Housing orientation will begin at 1 pm on Wednesday, August 21. Check with your Resident Assistant (RA) for your meeting location. After orientation, your Resident Assistant will escort you to Playfair, dinner, and RecFest.
Check out the Clyde’s Kickoff website for other exciting events happening during move-in week: https://www.uccs.edu/clydeskickoff/first-year
Safety and Security
Fall opening day is the only day we unlock our building doors. The buildings will be open when you arrive and will lock at 5:00pm. You will need to have your Student ID with you for exterior door access. When leaving your suite, make sure that you have your keys, you have pulled your door closed, and that it has locked.
Building security is a serious issue and we all share responsibility for it. If you find a door propped open, please close it and secure the door. Never allow someone into the building that does not live here—you could be letting strangers into your home.
If you ever see any suspicious activity or persons call Campus Police at 719-255-3111. Program this number into your phone so you always have it. In case of emergencies, please dial 911.
For RA assistance, please call 719-255-6500; this number is monitored Monday through Thursday at 5pm until the next morning at 8am, and Friday at 5pm through Monday morning at 8am.
All students should check-in no later than 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 21. However, check-in will be available 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, Wednesday through Sunday at the:
- La Plata front desk (for students living in Cucharas, La Plata, or San Juan)
- Monarch front desk (for students living in Aspen, Breckenridge, Copper, Eldora, Keystone, Monarch, Steamboat, Telluride, or Vail).
You must notify the Housing Office via email at email@example.com if you cannot check-in until after Sunday, August 25.
Student rooms will be held until 8:00am of the first day of classes (Monday, August 26). If the student has not checked in by this time, the room will be released and made available to students on the waitlist, unless the student has notified the Residence Life Office that they will be checking in at a later date. In no cases will student rooms be held for more than one week from the first day of classes.
We are excited to see you all this Fall!
