Learn More About Post-Award Support
The Post-Award Specialist serves as a direct support resource to investigators across campus and disciplines as related to sponsored projects administration.
They are responsible for fiscal management, human resources assistance, and procurement-related duties related to assigned sponsored projects*. Using institutional, federal, and sponsor-defined guidelines: they review and assist investigators with budgetary and administrative needs; analyze and produce reports; and provide overall support for grant management. The PAS also serves as a basic resource to help all UCCS investigators achieve a thorough understanding of sponsored program administration by providing workshops and trainings to the campus community.
*Projects receiving support by the OOR Post-Award Specialist will allocate 5% of the project’s F&A recoveries received by the College (typically, the College receives 40%) to Academic Affairs.
The Post-Award Specialist is available to assist a particular sponsored program or investigator at the discretion of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Research.
There are a number of priority considerations including:
- No departmental access to sponsored program administrator expertise
- No (or very limited) college access to sponsored program administrator expertise
- Sponsored program awards that generate the full negotiated UCCS F&A recovery rate (currently 44%)
- Sponsored program awards that exceed $100,000
- New Investigators
- Pre-tenure faculty
- Investigators who identify with an underrepresented population
