Remote Wellness Center Operations

 

Due to UCCS going to remote learning, starting March 23, 2020 the Wellness Center will be offering remote Telemedicine appointments for Health and Mental Health. While the Wellness Center facility is on remote operations, phone calls and voice mail to the 719-255-4444 number will not be checked as regularly so please follow the instructions below to ensure a timely response.

  • If you are having a medical or mental health emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to an emergency room as we are unable to attend to emergencies through Telemedicine. A list of local urgent cares and emergency rooms can be found at: https://www.uccs.edu/recwellness/index.php/health-services/general-information/after-hours-care
  • For those students seeking a Telehealth appointment, you will need to download the Microsoft Teams app on your phone or computer and have access to audio and/or video capabilities. If you need assistance downloading Microsoft Teams app on your smart phone or computer, please contact UCCS OIT at 719-255-3536.
  • Telehealth visits will remain $20. Your credit card payment will be collected through a Teams call with one of our staff on the day of your appointment. 

Health & Nutrition Appointments:

  • If you would like to schedule an appointment, please log in to our Wellness Center portal at uccs.medicatconnect.com and enter your UCCS ID and password.
    • At the top of the page click on the word “messages.” Then click on “compose new.” Send a message requesting an appointment to Chrissie Bailey.
    • You will need to include in the message the reason you are making an appointment.
    • As you are sending a message to us for an appointment, please make sure to include the accurate phone number we can use to reach you. Our system may have outdated numbers for our students and we want to make sure we have a way to contact you.
    • Please make sure to check your UCCS e-mail account frequently, as you will receive an alert to check your Medicat portal for updated communications.
    • In Medicat portal, you will need to review and electronically sign some documents before your session. Please go to “Forms” in your Medicat account and complete all documents that have a red star next to them.
    • A representative will email you back to schedule an appointment time that will be conducted via Microsoft Teams video chat. Open Microsoft Teams about 5 minutes prior to your appointment and the provider will contact you at appointment time.
  • We are unable to schedule visits that would require lab work or a detailed physical exam; for example: Sports Physical, Well Woman Exam, Sexually Transmitted Infection testing.
  • Nutritional Counseling will be available beginning April 9th

Other:

  • If you need a refill, please call your pharmacy to request a refill. They will send us an electronic refill request. If your pharmacy is unable to send us an electronic refill request, please log in to the Medicat portal (instructions above) to send a message request to have your medication refilled.
  • If you have a medical question, please log in to the Medicat portal (instructions above) to send a message request.

Mental Health Appointments:

  • If you would like to schedule an appointment, please log in to our Wellness Center portal at uccs.medicatconnect.com and enter your UCCS ID and password.

  • When you send a secure message in Medicat (instructions above) requesting an appointment, you will be staffed with a clinician who will contact you via your UCCS account on Microsoft Teams. Remember, if you are trying to get help for a crisis or an emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest emergency room.

  • The follow up appointments will be made when you are on the phone with your clinician; if you need to change or cancel it, please use the Medicat secure messaging system.

  • All groups are currently suspended. We will regroup when we are able to meet face-to-face.
