Educational Clinics and Workshops

In an effort to support the campus community in their outdoor endeavours, S.O.L.E. hosts a variety of educational clinics. These clinics are focus on skill and knowledge acquisition in the areas of bicycling, climbing, ski/snowboard maintenance, avalanche awareness and more. All clinics are free and open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and family. No registration is required unless otherwise noted below - just show up ready to learn, ask questions and meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts!

10/3 SUP Yoga FREE
  Interested in trying the standup paddleboard yoga craze? Join us for an introductory clinic in the UCCS pool to perfect your skills and get you ready for the great outdoors!

9/5, 10/3, 11/7, 12/5 Bike Maintenance- Monthly Clinic FREE
  Our student mechanics will take advantage of the S.O.L.E. bike shop to teach you the fundamentals of bike repair, such as flat tires, shifting, derailleurs, & brakes. 1st Tuesday of every month staring in September. Bring your bike! Starts @ 6pm!

11/2, 12/7, 1/4, 2/1 Ski Tuning Workshop- Monthly Clinic FREE
  This workshop will utilize the S.O.L.E. ski shop to teach the basics of ski maintenance and repair. Topics covered include general ski care, waxing techniques, ski base repair, and edge tuning. Bring your skis or board! 1st Thursday of every month @ 7pm starting in November

10/25,12/6 Basic Knots FREE
  Learn practical knots for practical applications. We will learn climbing knots, hitches, and more!

9/7 Bike Jam FREE
  Bike Jam is an annual UCCS event that encourages alternate methods of transportation, specifically bicycles. Bike Jam kicks-off our UCCS Bike Month Challenge, in which faculty, staff, and students can participate to win great prizes by riding for recreation or by commuting to and from UCCS

9/28 Aqua-lining (Slackling) @ the pool- An Aquapoolooza Event FREE
  Slacklining, jumbo twister, log rolling, and more at this wet and crazy event!

10/20 Wild and Scenic Film Festival $10

  Experience the adrenaline of kayaking the wildest rivers, climbing the highest peaks and trekking across the globe with adventure films from around the world.
