In an effort to support the campus community in their outdoor endeavours, SOLE hosts a variety of educational clinics. These clinics are focus on skill and knowledge acquisition in the areas of bicycling, climbing, ski/snowboard maintenance, avalanche awareness and more. Clinics are open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and family. Register on the Campus Recreation Portal - just show up ready to learn, ask questions and meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts! Leave No Trace - Trainer Certification Course


Dring this 2-day Leave No Trace Trainer Course, participants will learn and teach the seven principles of Leave No Trace. Upon completion, participants can teach and instruct Leave No Trace Awareness courses and aid a LNT Master Educator for LNT Trainer courses.


NOLS Wilderness First Aid

The National Outdoor Leadership School will be hosting a WFA certification course at SOLE! If you hike, backpack, climb, or do anything outdoor related, having wilderness medicine experience is a must! Contact SOLE for details.

Learn to Rock Climb Series

$8 per session
$25 for the month series

April 4, 11, 18, 25

Learn the skills and techniques to venture outside in the world of rock. Participants will learn belaying, climbing techniques, knots, anchors, and much more. No experience or equipment is required.

6pm Individual drop-in cost is $8 per class, or register for all four sessions at $25.
Classes are held every Thursday of the month at 6pm.

Ladies Only Climb Nights at SOLE


Every Wednesday

Wednesday climb night just for the ladies! Make friends, climb, learn, and enjoy the sport of rock climbing and its amazing camaraderie.

7pm No experience is necessary, and equipment is provided!


Bike Maintenance 101

Learn the fundamentals of bike repair such as flat tires, shifting, derailleurs, and brakes. 1st Wednesday of every month starting in February. Bring your bike! Starts at 5pm.



How to Wax 101 (Ski and Snowboards)

This workshop will utilize the SOLE ski shop to teach the basics of ski maintenance and repair. Bring your skis or board! 1st Thursday of every month at 5pm starting in January



End of Year Potluck



Join SOLE for our 1st annual end of the year potluck. We will have a variety of foods, slide shows and videos of this year's trips! If you are able, please bring a dish or side to share!



NOLS - Wilderness First Responder



The WFR is the industry standard for professional guides, trip leaders, search and rescue team members, outdoors recreationists, and international travelers. Upon completion, participants will receive a 3-year WFR certification, enabling them to provide emergency medical care in a wilderness setting while making crucial evacuation decisions.


NOLS - Leave No Trace - Master Educator Course



Learn to teach, educate, and practice sustainable and environmentally safe travel during this LNT backpacking and front country course.
