In an effort to support the campus community in their outdoor endeavors, SOLE hosts a variety of educational clinics. These clinics are focus on skill and knowledge acquisition in the areas of bicycling, climbing, ski/snowboard maintenance, avalanche awareness and more. Clinics are open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and family. Register on the Campus Recreation Portal - just show up ready to learn, ask questions and meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts! NOLS Wilderness First Aid

The National Outdoor Leadership School will be hosting a WFA certification course at SOLE! If you hike, backpack, climb, or do anything outdoor related, having wilderness medicine experience is a must! Contact SOLE for details. Space is limited. Fills Fast!

NOLS- Wilderness First Responder

The WFR is the industry standard for professional guides, trip leaders, search and rescue team members, outdoor recreationists, and international travelers. Upon completion participants will receive a 3-year WFR certification, enabling them to provide emergency medical care in a wilderness setting while making crucial evacuation decisions.

Learn to Rock Climb Series

Learn the skills and techniques to venture outside in the world of rock. Participants will learn belaying, climbing techniques, knots, anchors, and much more. No experience or equipment is required.

Classes held every Thursday of the month @ 6pm.

Friends, fun, climbing, music, mingling, and food. The SOLE Social has it all! Join us the first Thursday of every month from 7 to 9 pm.

Ladies Only Climb Nights @ SOLE

Tuesday climb night just for the ladies! Make friends, climb, learn, and enjoy the sport of rock climbing and its amazing camaraderie. No experience is necessary, and equipment is provided!

How to Wax 101 (Ski and Snowboards)

This workshop will utilize the SOLE ski shop to teach the basics of ski maintenance and repair. Bring your skis or board! 1st Thursday of every month @ 5pm starting in January

Basic Knots and Hitches

Learn practical knots for practical applications. We will learn climbing knots, hitches, and more!


Wilderness First Aid 101

Learn the basics of wilderness medicine. We will learn splinting techniques, treating burns and blisters, and much more in this 1-hour class.


Rock Climbing Competition

Test your climbing skills in this friendly and supportive climbing competition. Participants will be grouped by ability level. Prizes and drawings will take place throughout the night!
