Educational Clinics and Workshops

In an effort to support the campus community in their outdoor endeavours, SOLE hosts a variety of educational clinics. These clinics are focus on skill and knowledge acquisition in the areas of bicycling, climbing, ski/snowboard maintenance, avalanche awareness and more. All clinics are free and open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and family. No registration is required unless otherwise noted below - just show up ready to learn, ask questions and meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts!

Leave No Trace – Trainer Certification Course


During this 2-day Leave No Trace Trainer Course, participants will learn and teach the seven principles of Leave No Trace and discuss wildland ethics and sustainability. Upon completion, participants can teach and instruct Leave No Trace Awareness courses and aid a LNT Master Educator for LNT Trainer specific courses.

Wilderness First Aid w/WFR Recertification

$225 prior 2/1 $240 after

The Wilderness Medical Training Center will be hosting a Hybrid Online DLP WFA certification course at SOLE! This means there is a small online portion and 2 days of classroom and in field experience. WFR and WEMT recertification is available. Contact SOLE for details. Space is limited. Fills Fast!

Learn to Rock Climb Series

$8 per $20 total

Learn all the skills and techniques to venture outside in the world of rock. Each class will have a different focus each week. Participants will learn belaying, climbing techniques, knots, anchors, and much more. No experience or equipment is required.

Time: 6:00pm

ndividual drop-in cost is $8 per class or register for all 4 sessions @ $20

Ladies Only Climb Nights @ SOLE


Join SOLE as we shut down the center every Tuesday just for the ladies! Make friends, climb, learn, and enjoy the sport of rock climbing and its amazing camaraderie.

Bike Maintenance 101


Learn the fundamentals of bike repair such as flat tires, shifting, derailleurs, & brakes. 1st Wednesday of every month staring in February. Bring your bike! Starts @ 5 pm!

How to Wax 101 (Ski and Snowboards)


This workshop will utilize the S.O.L.E. ski shop to teach the basics of ski maintenance and repair. Topics covered include general ski care, waxing techniques, ski base repair, and edge tuning. Bring your skis or board! 1st Thursday of every month @ 5pm starting in January

Climbing and Smores!


The name says it all. Eat Smores and rock climb on our new indoor climbing wall! Smores will be hosted outside SOLE in the atrium. Bring a friend and a napkin!

End of Year Potluck


Join SOLE for our 1st annual end of the year potluck. We will have a variety of food, slide shows and videos of this year’s trips! If you are able, please bring a dish or side to share!

Volunteer Trail Day


Help us repair the bluffs! We guarantee a fun and exciting day of trails, nature, and laughter. Lunch is provided! No experience required!
