Did you know?  There is NO LONGER a need to pick up the physical permit from Parking Office after purchasing a permit.  The vehicle license plate IS the parking permit!

Summer 2019 Resident Student Parking Information

General Information

***Summer 2019 Permits become available on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

Click HERE to register for a Summer 2019 Resident permit (on May 21 or after) only AFTER reading the below information.

Entering license plate number(s) is a REQUIREMENT when registering for a permit.  You may enter as many as five different license plates under one permit (including cars and motorcycles), but only ONE of these vehicles may be parked on campus at the same time. We converted to License Plate Recognition (LPR) during the Spring 2018 semester so license plate information is now required.  Unregistered vehicles may result in a citation even though a valid permit was purchased.  It is the responsibility of each resident to log into the parking portal and keep their vehicle information current and valid.  There is no longer a requirement to pick up a physical permit from the Parking Office after purchase.  Your license plate is now your permit.

For the Resident parking area and all other permit restricted areas on campus, you must register for your permit(s) through the parking portal by the first day of classes, Monday, June 10, 2019.  There is NO "grace period." Tickets WILL be written for violations starting the first day of the semester. Resident permits are valid for the SUMMER 2019 semester only. Residents who bring a vehicle to campus will need to log into the parking portal and reserve their permit.  Residents are allowed to register up to five vehicles (including cars and motorcycles) on the same virtual permit.  However, only one vehicle is allowed on campus at a time per permit issued. PLEASE NOTE: Resident permits are included in housing fees and no additional payment is necessary at time of issuance. Residents who possess a valid state-issued handicapped permit or license plate registered in their name may park in ANY handicapped space on the UCCS campus as long as the handicapped plate/permit is displayed and the vehicle and license plate is registered in the Parking Portal.

Vehicles in violation of parking regulations will be subject to ticket and/or tow. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. YOU ARE NOT PURCHASING A RESERVED PARKING SPACE. Students should direct all inquiries concerning parking to Parking Services at 719-255-3528.

Permit Restricted Parking Options

Summer 2019 Resident Permit: During summer semester only this permit is valid in Yellow & Orange (100-200 series) lots and in the Gateway Garage, levels 1, 2, 4 & 5 at any time.  Also during the summer semester this permit is valid in the western half of the level 1 of the Alpine Garage and all of Alpine Garage levels 2, 3, and 4.  All Resident parking stalls are marked with yellow stripes.  Residents may NOT park in the visitor portion (eastern half) of the Alpine Garage without paying the hourly rate.  All visitor parking stalls in the Alpine Garage are marked with white stripes. Residents will need to register online for their "virtual" permit prior to move-in.  To register, log into the parking portal located on the Parking and Transportation website.  There is no charge for this permit as it is already covered under your housing fees.

Motorcycle Permit: This permit is valid in all designated Motorcycle Parking areas only. Motorcycles MAY NOT BE PARKED IN REGULAR SPACES except in visitor parking areas on campus and then the space must be paid for through the visitor pay station.  As this permit is optional, an additional payment of $19.00 (for Orange border lots) or $30 (for Yellow main campus lots) is required for those residents wanting to park a car and motorcycle on campus at the same time.

Student Safety and Transportation Fee & Transportation Services

All students are automatically charged a Safety and Transportation fee. This fee is not a parking fee and is not used for parking-related improvements. This fee is used to provide enhanced police services and shuttle services for the UCCS community. The Safety and Transportation fee is billed directly to the student's account. For detailed information on service to and from various housing areas as well as other on-campus locations, see our on-line shuttle schedule.
