Core Training 2018: June 4-29
Colorado Core Training provides educators from across the country with the tools they need to engage, inspire, and empower students. Whether it's our three-day PLTW Launch Lead Teacher training or our two-week high school training, we want to prepare teachers with the skills and tools they need to be successful in the classroom. Come prepared to learn through hands on, project-based learning and to build a network of colleagues to collaborate and share best practices.

Please refer to the PLTW Computer and Tablet Specifications to ensure your computer will run as needed while at Core Training.
Each teacher participating in Colorado PLTW Core Training and teaching Project Lead The Way courses is required to have a laptop computer for his/her use. Teachers must have Administrator rights and the capability to connect to UCCS-Wireless Internet.
UCCS-Wireless --- At the time that you connect to the UCCS network, you should be prompted for a username and password. Your UCCS login and password are what you will use to log on to the UCCS network (contact email@example.com if you do not know your UCCS login).
If this is the first time you are accessing the UCCS-Wireless network, your first attempt to access a web page may be rerouted to our Network Access Control (NAC) page, depending on which type of device you are using to connect. At this point, you can make a choice between being granted Full Access or Limited Access. You will need Full Access for Core Training.
Full Access: This option requires users of this network to install a small, extremely lightweight client known as SafeConnect in order to be allowed full access. SafeConnect itself does not enforce any policies on your device, but rather checks to make sure that your operating system is up to date, and that you have some form of anti-virus and anti-spyware program installed. The process of downloading and installing the SafeConnect program typically takes under a minute. Once SafeConnect is installed, you will either be granted full access, or you will be directed to instructions explaining how to update your computer to be in full compliance. Additionally, after SafeConnect is installed, you should not need to visit the Network Access Control page again. From this point, you should have full access to the Internet. After SafeConnect have been installed for the first time, you should immediately have access to the network as soon as you connect to UCCS-Wireless from this point forward.
Limited Access: This option is for people who can not or do not want to install the SafeConnect client. Picking this option will still grant you access to the Internet, but with several restrictions on which types of connections are allowed. Basic web browsing is allowed (HTTP and HTTPS), along with off-campus SSH and VPN connections.
