CU Succeed courses are taught in the high school during the regular school day by University-qualified high school teachers who hold an Honorarium Faculty Appointment in their appropriate discipline department at UCCS.
They appear on an official UCCS transcript as do other courses of the University. Learn more about policies regarding the transfer of credits.
Tuition $52 per credit hour
$50 per credit hour plus a $2 per credit hour SIS administrative fee (i.e. 3-credit course $156).
This fee is substantially less than if the course was taken on the UCCS campus.
Your school may also require you to pay for textbooks and other course materials.

Within 24 hours of submitting your application, you should receive an automated e-mail when your myUCCS student portal account is ready. You can then proceed to https://accounts.uccs.edu to claim your account to access your student portal ---where you can register, pay your bill, etc.
Keep this username and password for future access into your myUCCS Student Portal

Log In to your myUCCS student portal at www.uccs.edu/portal
- Click on “Records and Registration”
- Click on “Register for Classes”
- Pre-registration verifications: address(‘Home’ address marked as ‘Local’), phone numbers, emergency contact
- Tuition and Fee Agreement and Disclosure
- Search by Class Number, Enter 5-digit Class Number. Click “Submit Class Number”
- Confirm the details of the course and click “Next”
- Check the box of the course you would like to enroll, under the “Select” column
- Click “Proceed to Step 2 of 4”
- Confirm the course and click “Finish Enrolling”
In the portal click on “Student Financials (Bursar)”
Click on “Pay Your Bill”
Enter the payment amount and payment method and click on “Continue”
- Credit Card payments incur a 2.75% processing fee, E-Check payments do not have a processing fee
Provide payment information for the selected method and click “Continue”
Confirm the payment information and click “Confirm” ---Print a copy for your records
Grades and UCCS Credits
Grades earned in CU Succeed courses become a part of a student's University of Colorado academic record
Therefore, it is extremely important that a student earn at least a 'C' grade in CU Succeed courses. A grade of C-minus or below could prevent a student from being admitted to any campus in the University of Colorado system, regardless of the student's high school GPA or college entrance exam scores, as a C- corresponds to a GPA of 1.70, and students must have a minimum of a 2.0 University GPA to be admitted to or remain in good standing at the University. STUDENTS WHO ARE AT RISK OF RECEIVING A GRADE LOWER THAN "C" SHOULD CONSIDER WITHDRAWING FROM THE COURSE PRIOR TO THE WITHDRAWAL DEADLINE!

UCCS credit is granted in the spring semester for year long courses. CU Succeed courses that run a single semester will be transcripted in the corresponding semester it was taken.
Most CU Succeed courses run for an entire year in the high school. To receive, UCCS credit students must be in the course for the entire year. Credit is then granted in the spring semester (i.e. CU Succeed courses which do not offer fall credit, but offer spring college credit require the student to be enrolled in the high school CU Succeed credit for the entire year prior to being allowed to register for Spring CU Succeed credit.)
The grading policy for students enrolled in CU Succeed courses is virtually identical to the grading policy for students enrolled in all mathematics courses on the UCCS campus. The course must be taken for a letter grade. (The University employs a PLUS/MINUS grading system, where, for example, a B corresponds to 3.0 points on a 4.0 scale and a B+ corresponds to 3.3 points.)
Once enrolled in a CU Succeed course, a student has until the drop deadline to disenroll from the course without penalty. In this scenario, there will be no record of the course on the student's UCCS transcript. The student will receive a full refund. (The exception to this rule is for students enrolling in BC Calculus. There will be no opportunity to disenroll from the Calculus I portion of the course. A BC Calculus student may disenroll from the Calculus 2 portion of the course and receive a refund for the Calculus 2 portion if the disenroll is completed by the drop deadline.)
If a student chooses to do so, he/she may withdraw from a CU Succeed course on or before the withdraw deadline. The student's transcript will indicate a 'W' for the course. Such a mark does not count towards the student's grade point average. There is NO refund of the tuition in this scenario. (BC Calculus students may only withdraw from the Calculus 2 portion of the course).
If a student is still enrolled in a CU Succeed course past the officially posted Withdraw date, then the student will receive a grade for the course. Students who for any reason do not complete the appropriate course work will earn an 'F' on their transcript for the course. A student may disenroll or withdraw from a CU Succeed course without disenrolling or withdrawing from the corresponding high school course.
Credits earned in a CU Succeed course are regular University of Colorado Colorado Springs credits that are recorded on an official University of Colorado transcript. This transcript is identical to that issued to students on campus and does not specify that the course was taken off site.
Policies regarding the transfer of credits and the specific ways in which they apply to degree requirements vary from institution to institution. As such, no institution, including the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, can guarantee that its courses will in all cases be accepted by other institutions, or that these courses will satisfy degree requirements in every academic major.
Generally speaking, institutions that accept University of Colorado credits will accept the credits earned by completion of a CU Succeed course. However, some colleges and Universities will not accept courses for which a student also received high school credit and/or are taught exclusively for high school students. Consequently, it is in the best interest of the student to obtain information regarding transfer of credits from the college or university they plan to attend prior to enrolling in a CU Succeed course.
The following information should be given to representatives of other institutions when inquiring about transfer of credits earned by the successful completion of a CU Succeed course:
- CU Succeed courses are regular university courses that appear in the University catalogue, not high school courses for which students receive university credit.
- The courses are taught by UCCS honorarium faculty who are appointed by UCCS
- The courses appear on an official University of Colorado transcript as do other courses of the University
