What is an Out-of-State Orientation?

Orientation programs are now available in select locations of Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Texas. These orientations are offered to those students who currently reside in Arizona, California, Hawaii, or Texas, and would prefer to not make a special trip to Colorado Springs for orientation. While we certainly welcome any student and their family to on-campus orientations, our intention is to minimize any possible burdens and bring the orientation to you. At these orientations, students and their family members can expect to meet our staff and fellow incoming students, learn about campus resources, and register for classes. Out-of-state orientations are available to both freshmen and transfer students.

At orientation you will:

  • Register for classes
  • Meet with an academic advisor
  • Learn about available campus resources
  • Meet other students, faculty, and staff on campus

All out-of-state orientations will last approximately 3.5 hours, and it is important to schedule accordingly to ensure you can attend the full orientation.

If you live out-of-state and are unable to attend an on-campus or out-of-state orientation, please email our office at orientation@uccs.edu for alternative arrangements.
