Transfer/Dependent Benefits

 

Applying for your Benefit for the First Time

 Please do this early!  Submitting your paperwork just before the start of the term will result in payment delays.  

You must complete New Student Intake - complete the process below then contact our office for more information.

  1. Chapter 33 - fill out VA Form 22-1990E through Vets.gov website (Certificate of Eligibility will be mailed to you).  Print the confirmation page for your records!
  2. Chapter 33 only:  If you do not have a Certificate of Eligibility , from St. Louis, before the start of your first semester - then you need to complete and print the following and bring it to the Office of Veteran and Military Student Affairs (OVMSA) for New Student Intake.
    • Signed Acknowledgment of Tuition Responsibility (available in the OVMSA) - the student is responsible for tuition payments until the Certificate of Eligibility arrives, including any late fees that are allowed to accrue.
    • Transfer of Education Benefits (TEB) Letter - found on the sponsor's milConnect account
    • Proof of VA Form 22-1990E (either the printed confirmation page or a VA email)
    • Once you receive your NEW Certificate of Eligibility, you must bring it into our office. 

  3. Chapter 35 and Fry Scholarship - fill out VA Form 22-5490 through Vets.gov (Certificate of Eligibility will be mailed to you)
    •  Once your NEW Certificate of Eligibility arrives, bring it into our office for New Student Intake. 

 

Transferring to UCCS from a school within the State of Colorado

You must complete New Student Intake - find your St. Louis Certificate of Eligibility, complete the Change of Program or Place of Training form listed below, and then contact our office for more information.

 

Transferring to UCCS from a school outside of the State of Colorado

You must complete New Student Intake - find your St. Louis Certificate of Eligibility, complete the Change of Program or Place of Training form listed below, and then contact our office for more information.

  1. Chapter 33 - fill out VA Form 22-1995 through Vets.gov.  Print the confirmation page for your records!
  2. Chapter 33 only: If you do not have a Certificate of Eligibility, from St. Louis, before the start of your first semester - then you need to print the following and bring it to the Office of Veteran and Military Student Affairs (OVMSA) for New Student Intake.

    • Proof of your Eligibility - eBenfits print out or a copy of your old COE.
    • Proof of VA Form 22-1995 (either the printed confirmation page or VA email)
    • Once you receive your NEW Certificate of Eligibility, you must bring it into our office. 

  3. Chapter 35 and Fry Scholarship - fill out VA Form 22-5495 through Vets.gov (Certificate of Eligibility will be mailed to you)
    • Once your NEW Certificate of Eligibility arrives, bring it into our office for New Student Intake. 

Please remember that all students are ultimately responsible for their tuition. 

Prompt submission of your paperwork will ensure timely payment for your benefits. 

Late fees are not covered by the VA.
