Apply Online

An applicant for admission as a regular degree student for the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs must submit the following to the Mathematics office at the address below:

  1. Save time and Apply Online get familiar with the process by reading the UCCS Online Graduate Application Guide.
  2. A $60.00 non-refundable application fee, can be paid online.
  3. 1 Official Transcript from each college/university attended. All transcripts must be sent directly from the previous school or hand delivered in a sealed University envelope.
  4. 2 letters of recommendation (For MS and MSc) and 3 letters of recommendation for PhD track.
  5. A Selective Service Form (if you are male and born after 1960)
  6. An In-State Tuition Classification form (if you are claiming in-state tuition eligibility)
  7. An Application for Graduate Teaching Fellowship if you are requesting financial assistance from the department

Admission for International Applicants

Apply Online

An applicant for admission as an International student for the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs must submit the following Documents to the Mathematics office at the address below:

  1. A completed International Graduate Student Application, available online.
  2. A Financial Statement for International Students form with the required documentation
  3. A $100.00 non-refundable application fee, can be paid online.
  4. 1 Official Transcript from each college/university attended.
    Note: Received transcripts should all be translated by an official agency that is approved under NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services; http://www.naces.org/members.htm).
  5. 2 Letters of Recommendation for MS and MSc tracks. 3 Letters of Recommendation for the PhD track.
  6. If your native language is not English then you must demonstrate your proficiency in English. The English proficiency requirements for the graduate mathematics programs can be found at: //www.uccs.edu/math/current-students/graduate/english_proficiency_requirements
    Note: Conditional acceptance will NOT be granted for students who do not meet the English Language Requirements set forth by the University and the department.
  7. An application for a Graduate Teaching Fellowship if you are requesting financial assistance from the department Completed applications (including all supporting documentation) should be submitted 60 days prior to the term for which admission is sought, although applications are reviewed on a continual basis and will be considered if this deadline is not met.

English Proficiency Requirements

All students applying to any of the mathematics graduate programs at UCCS, whose native language is not English, must demonstrate their English language proficiency through one of the following three means before they are able to enroll in classes at the university:

Letter of Cooperation

Students are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement if they meet any of the following conditions:

  1. A bachelor's degree from a US accredited institution where teaching is done in English.
  2. If the student is a citizen of a country whose first/official language of instruction is English and the student has completed undergraduate work in that country.

Guaranteed Early Graduate Admission

The Guaranteed Early Admission Program is designed to offer outstanding students enrolled in their final semester at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in the Bachelor of Arts B.A. in Mathematics or Bachelor of Science B.S. in Mathematics, guaranteed and expedited admission to the Graduate School.

Admissions Criteria:

  • The applicant must have completed a minimum of 45 semester hours at UCCS at the time of graduation with the B.S. or B.A. degree from the Mathematics department at UCCS.
  • The applicant must be registered in his or her final undergraduate semester.
  • The applicant must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.5 overall and in all mathematics course work.
  • The applicant must be a resident of the United States.

To apply, a student must submit the following to the Mathematics office at the address below:

  1. A completed Guaranteed Early Admission Application Form
  2. A check or money order for $60.00 non-refundable application fee, made payable to UCCS
  3. A completed UCCS Transcript Request Form
  4. Two letters of recommendation from members of the mathematics department faculty.
  5. A Graduate Teaching Fellowship Form if you are requesting financial assistance from the department
