This is the primary database for education, and the recommended starting place for your education research. ERIC includes peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, standards, and reviews, linking to more than 300,000 full-text documents in education.

LearnTechLib  years vary
The Learning and Technology Library (LearnTechLib) is an online resource for aggregated, peer-reviewed research on the latest developments and applications in learning and technology. LearnTechLib covers more than 25 years and offers over 100,000 documents of published international journal articles, conference papers, e-books, and multimedia content from 200,000+ leading authors.

PsycINFO EBSCOhost  1872-
PsycINFO covers the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines, including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, and other areas. Communication topics such as interpersonal communication, family communication, male-female communication and nonverbal communication, can be searched in this database. The database includes information from empirical studies, case studies, surveys, bibliographies, literature reviews, discussion articles, conference reports and dissertations.

Scopus Elsevier 1966-
Scopus is an abstracts database covering the following fields: chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, engineering, life and health sciences, social sciences, psychology, economics, and environmental sciences.

Social Sciences Citation Index ISI Web of Knowledge 1900-
Includes current and retrospective bibliographic information, author abstracts, and cited references found the world's leading scholarly social sciences journals covering more than 50 disciplines.

Dissertations & Theses

Dissertations and Theses Proquest  1639-
Indexes the complete range of academic subjects appearing in dissertations accepted at accredited institutions. Abstracting of dissertations begins with 1980 and abstracting of theses begins with 1988.

Mometrix Mometrix eLibrary 
Mometrix eLibrary is an extensive collection of test preparation materials. It currently offers 3,500 products covering over 1,500 different standardized exams.

Sage Research Methods Cases Sage years vary
Sage Research Methods Cases is a collection of case studies of real social research. Cases are original, specially commissioned, and designed to help students understand often abstract methodological concepts by introducing them to case studies of real research projects.

HAPI (Health and Psychosocial Instruments) Ebscohost 1985-
Provides information on measurement instruments (i.e., questionnaires, coding schemes, rating scales, vignettes) in the health fields and psychosocial sciences. HAPI helps scholars identify instruments for research, grants, client/patient assessment, and program evaluation.

Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Ebscohost years vary
This database combines Mental Measurements Yearbook, a comprehensive guide to testing instruments produced by the Buros Institute, and Tests in Print (TIP), a bibliography that includes test purpose, publisher, in-print status, price, intended test population, administration times, publication date, and author.

Sage Research Methods Sage years vary
Sage Research Methods assists researchers, faculty and students conducting research projects or learning how to do research. Includes links to over 175,000 pages of SAGE's book, journal and reference content. Whether studying education or psychology, sociology or business, Sage Research Methods focuses on methodology rather than disciplines - researchers can explore methods concepts to help them design research projects, understand particular methods or identify a new method, conduct their research, and write up their findings.

ICPSR Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research years vary
ICPSR maintains a digital, data archive of more than 500,000 files of research in the social sciences. It hosts 16 specialized collections of data in education, aging, criminal justice, substance abuse, terrorism, demographics and other social related fields.

Streaming Video Databases

Academic Video Online: Premium Alexander Street 
Collection of over 48,000 streaming video titles spanning essential subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, history, music, film, and more. More than half of the titles are only available through Alexander Street Press.

PPR: Public performance is allowed as long as no admission fee or donation is collected, the screening takes place on campus, attendees are authorized users (currently enrolled students, staff, faculty, and visiting scholars), and the screening is not advertised or promoted to the general public.

Films on Demand Films Media Group  
Contains thousands of streaming documentaries in the humanities, social sciences and sciences. For criminal justice, it contains films in the areas of criminal investigation, criminal justice system and sociology.

PPR: Licensee and Authorized Users may stream, display, publicly perform, or exhibit the licensed materials asynchronously on a single computer or network, course management system, or password protected website for classroom teaching, research, presentations, and educational non-commercial multimedia projects for use in educational institutions, provided no admission or other fees are charged for public viewing. Licensed material may not be used for the purposes of monetary reward by means of admission charge or fee for viewing, sale, loan, transfer, or other form of exploitation.

Media Education Foundation  
Search or browse over a hundred different streaming videos in the humanities, social sciences, and other disciplines produced by the Media Education Foundation.

PPR: Public performance is allowed as long as the screening is on campus, no admission fee is charged, and there is no financial gain from the showing. The public may attend the showing.

Psychology & Counseling Videos on AVON Alexander Street 
A subset of educational streaming videos from the Academic Video Online: Premium subscription that covers psychology and counseling.

PPR: Public performance is allowed as long as no admission fee or donation is collected, the screening takes place on campus, attendees are authorized users (currently enrolled students, staff, faculty, and visiting scholars), and the screening is not advertised or promoted to the general public.  
Over 200 videos covering a wide range of modalities, theoretical approaches, and populations aim to broaden and deepen therapy skills through watching therapists demonstrating clinical techniques and discussing their work.

PPR: All persons viewing content in a group setting (such as a classroom) must be authorized users.

Children's Literature Comprehensive Database   current
The CLCD is an acquisition, research, and reference service that offers reviews of children's books-- full text searchable from 36 review sources.
