Happy Winter Break

Hello All!

We hope that everyone is winding down from finals and ready for a well-deserved break! Perhaps you are at home in or out of state, or maybe you have decided to spend the holidays with close friends or extended family this year. Some of you may live at home with supportive, encouraging family members, and some might live at home with family who either may not be supportive or may be unaware of your sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Because of this, we know that going home for the holidays can sometimes be especially stressful for LGBTQIA+ students.

Wherever you are, and whoever you are, know that the UCCS LGBTQ+ Resource Center at MOSAIC is here for you.

Remember that there are many of us out here who are navigating these experiences along with you, and that you are not alone. Please click here for a resource guide that you may find helpful this winter break.

 Be you. Love you.

Know that you truly are special and the world is a better place with you in it!

We look forward to seeing and working with you all this coming spring term! Stop by and say hello! We are located in the MOSAIC office (University Center, Room 110).

All the best,

-LGBTQ Resource Center at MOSAIC Staff

Welcome from the Program Director

Welcome!

The UCCS campus is home to a diverse and engaged community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, asexual, and allied students, staff, and faculty. Many LGBTQIA+ and allied people have found the campus to be an ideal place to learn, grow, work, and live.

The LGBT+ Resource Center at MOSAIC (LGBTRC) is a resource for and about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual, questioning, queer, and allied members of the UCCS community. The LGBTRC works to create a safe and supportive campus environment by offering educational and community building opportunities and advocating for the needs and concerns of the LGBT+ community. The LGBTRC serves the UCCS community by offering a wide array of support services, resources, and programming all focused on enhancing LGBTQIA+ inclusion and the campus community's understanding and appreciation of LGBTQIA+ people and their lived experiences.

As the Program Director, my role is to support you in achieving your academic and person goals and more specifically with a multicultural understanding. Should you need additional support during your time at UCCS, the LGBT+ Resource Center is here for you! I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our resources, affiliated offices, programs and the many opportunities that can help navigate your experience here at UCCS. If you do not find what you are looking for, please contact me. Your questions, concerns, comments, and suggestions are always welcome and will help me in my role as a student advocate.

Your experiences at UCCS--from finding community and building relationships to gaining academic knowledge--will last you a lifetime.

I look forward to your visit to the center! Go Mountain Lions!
