LAS Staff Outstanding Service Award Guidelines

  1. Official Name of Award: LAS Staff Outstanding Service Award
  2. Purpose of award: The purpose of the LAS Staff Outstanding Service Award is to officially recognize and reward individual staff members who have given outstanding service
    • to their college (50%)
    • to their university (20%) – to include other colleges, other faculty other staff, and other system committees
    • to their community (15%)
    • and demonstrated prior service to LAS (15%) above and beyond the boundaries of their current job description.
  3. Eligibility: Any current classified staff or professional exempt employee (full or part time) of LAS, excluding the current members of the award selection committee, is eligible for nomination provided they have not received this same award within the last three years.
  4. Nomination Guidelines:
    • Nominations may be made by a current LAS staff, student, or faculty member.
    • Nominations must be submitted using the official nomination form.
    • Nominations must be submitted to the current staff awards selection committee by April 3rd . No late submissions will be accepted.
  5. Recognition:
    • Award certificate signed by LAS Dean
    • Letter of award signed by LAS Dean and included in personnel records
    • One-time cash award of $500 (before taxes)
    • Acknowledgment on the LAS website
    • Acknowledgment at the annual LAS Awards Ceremony (April 20, 2017)
