Carol Boren

KPWE Mentor

Bio

Carol Boren

Carol is originally from Houston, Texas, and graduated from Tulane University with a degree in modern

European history.

After graduation, she worked for two years as a flight attendant for Pan American Airways. She left Pan

Am to study German in Munich, and was hired soon after to work for an international cultural exchange

organization there. After two years in Munich, she was transferred to Rome where she continued her

work for this organization for more than 20 years. From 1998 she worked for an American law firm as

the manager of their Italian offices in Rome and Milan. She held this position until her retirement in

2012, and moved to Colorado Springs. Carol recently finished a 4-year term on the Board of the

Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas Alumnae Association, is currently on the Board of the

Pi Beta Phi Alumnae group in Colorado Springs, and works with other philanthropic groups in El Paso

County. She was recently assigned as mentor to a KPWE scholar and is finding this to be both fun and

rewarding.

Moving back to America after 46 years abroad has been quite an experience, but Colorado Springs has

proved to be a great choice. Everyone has been very friendly, and she is happily engaged in a myriad of

activities. Carol has a daughter living in Rome, and a son living in Amsterdam.
