In 2014 BJ stepped down from a long career at Peak Vista Community Health Centers, a private non-profit primary care healthcare provider that serves the Pikes Peak and East Central Plains Regions through 25 clinics in 9 counties. She joined Peak Vista in 1996 as VP of Development, served as President & CEO from 2001 to 2011. In June 2011 she stepped down as President-CEO to devote her efforts to the Peak Vista Foundation.
BJ's decades of combined experience in healthcare management and fundraising gave her experience in community relationship building, strategic planning, community collaborations, leadership development, adult training, and customer service.
She currently serves on the boards of Innovations in Aging, The Colorado Springs Health Foundation, Colorado Springs Leadership Institute, LiveWell Colorado Springs and the US Bank Advisory Board. She is serving a second term as a Governor-appointed Commissioner on the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.
Her honors include: Outstanding Service Recognition from El Pomar Foundation & Peak Vista Board of Directors, Finalist for Athena Award for outstanding women in leadership, International Association of Administrative Professionals Executive of the Year, S. Jerrard Smith Community Service Award, CSBJ Women of Influence Awardee, Johnson & Johnson/UCLA Health Care Executive Community Health Improvement Program Awardee.
Today, BJ consults in the areas of healthcare innovation and management, fundraising, governance, succession planning and encore careers.
