Our community of veterans, both students and faculty, understand the challenges individuals and families face when transitioning from service to school. Because they’ve been there. With our Student Veteran Center employees and student military programs such as Books for Battle Buddies, we give you the tools you need to succeed at UCCS and beyond. You're also able to take advantage of facilities designed to propel you forward, such as our McCord-Herbst Student Veteran Center, the Gallogly Recreation and Wellness Center and so much more.

LEVINO JOHNSON
Master of Public Administration

Levino Johnson has always had a hunger for success.

During his 12 years of service in the Army, Levino hired an academic tutor and earned his bachelor’s degree. It was this same hunger that led him to UCCS to pursue more education and advance his career.

“Dig deep. You have to find that fire in your stomach. Use it to get out of that situation. Grab onto whatever you have there and pull yourself up.

In the military, you're basically a public servant for the nation. I learned at UCCS what it means to be a public servant.”

— Levino Johnson, Master of Public Administration, class of 2016
