UCCS accepts students year round (rolling admission). Apply for admission as early as possible and at least 90 days before the start of the term. The visa application process can take a long time. Apply early - the entire application, acceptance, and visa process could take 4-6 months or longer. After we receive all the required documents, we will make an admission decision and tell you within 3 weeks for undergraduate programs and longer for graduate programs. Students interested in funding (graduate and undergraduate) applications must be received by February 1 for fall semester intake.

Yes. You will be conditionally admitted to UCCS if you do NOT have the English language requirement. You will begin in our English Language Program. Once you meet the English language requirement, you can apply for your degree and will be admitted to your degree program if you meet the requirements.

If your university is recognized by the Ministry of Education in your home country or if your university is accredited by one of the US regional accrediting bodies, we will accept transfer credit.
Applicants with any foreign college course-work are required to submit a course-by-course foreign degree evaluation by a NACES member to be considered to receive transfer credits at UCCS.
After you are admitted, you will receive admission documents with a transfer form and request to provide proof of financial support for your new I-20. Take the transfer form to your current immigration advisor.
Yes, all credentials must be in English. The translation must be professional.
Yes, UCCS offers both full-time and part-time intensive English programs.
UCCS is on a semester system (16 weeks per semester). Fall semester is from mid-August to mid-December; Spring semester is from early January to mid-May. Students beginning in the English Language program have additional start dates as the sessions are 8 weeks.
Yes. You must choose a major. If you wish to change your major after arriving at UCCS, you must complete formal documents and meet with your international student advisor so that you immigration documents can reflect this change (this is the law).
Graduate Students will need to contact their department for their schedule and class registration. Undergraduate students will be assigned to an advisor based upon the major. All students need to complete the orientation prior to advising. Students must have proof of immunizations completed prior to registering for any subsequent semesters.
The average class size is 25 students. Student-to-faculty ratio is 18 to 1.
Yes. Our undergraduate programs are designed so that you can finish your degree in 4 years. Students must take an average of 16 credits per semester to graduate in 4 years.
