Dr. Mandy Hansen serves as the Director for the Global Engagement Office. She has worked in international education in a professional capacity for over 15 years. Dr. Hansen's institutional knowledge and experience involve international work at a community college, a small private university, and large public institutions. She has directed international admissions and recruitment, coordinated orientations, developed partnership programs, conducted grant writing/proposal writing, and advised international students and scholars.
Dr. Hansen is an alumnus of the Fulbright Program for International Administrators in Germany and served in leadership positions with organizations such as NAFSA: Association of International Education and the National Association for College Admission Counseling. Her doctoral degree is in educational leadership and her research involved a narrative inquiry into the lived experiences and professional journeys of women senior international officers. Her education includes a bachelor's degree in business relations and Latin American studies at the University of Pittsburgh, a master's degree in non-profit management at Alfred University, and a doctorate degree at Northern Arizona University.
Dr. Hansen spends much of her free time hiking throughout the West and has a strong affinity for the Southwest, pottery, paintings. Her favorite book is Claiming Ground by Laura Bell and she enjoys a strong cup of coffee in the morning with a heavy pour of cream!
