Are there any age requirements for students who receive services from the OIS at UCCS?
Yes, students must be 18 years old by August 1 of the academic year in which they are applying.
Can a student be enrolled in a public school transition program and receive services from the OIS at UCCS?
No, students must conclude secondary education with a high school diploma, certificate of completion or equivalent before fall enrollment.
Do student receiving services from the Office of Inclusive Services have to live on campus?
No, students do not have to live on-campus. We are working towards on-campus living for students who are interested, but on-campus housing will not be available for fall 2018. There are a few student apartment options near campus that might work for students looking for more independence. Families are welcome to explore this option.
Is transportation provided for students receiving services from the OIS at UCCS?
No, transportation to and from the campus is not provided. On-campus transportation is provided by UCCS shuttles, and all student have access to the shuttles to get around campus. The OIS can work with students to help them learn to navigate public transportation including Uber, Lyft, etc. However, transportation to and from UCCS is the responsibility of the student.
