CU helps eligible employees save for retirement, by generously contributing to a Mandatory Retirement Plan. CU also provides eligible employees with the opportunity to bolster their retirement savings with Voluntary Plan options. Benefits eligible employees at UCCS may be eligible for certain types of paid leave, including sick and vacation. For more information about leave eligibility, click here.

Some employees may be eligible for paid parental leave. The intention of parental leave is to provide care and bonding time with a child during the first 12 months of the qualifying event (birth, adoption, foster care placement).

Tuition at Pikes Peak Community College can be waived for up to six undergraduate credit hours per academic year for permanent, 100% time employees of UCCS and up to three credits for those employed between 50% to 99% of a full appointment. The academic year begins with the summer term.

  • The employee must be admitted to PPCC.
  • The Tuition Benefit Form must be completed and certified by the Office Human Resources, Cragmor Hall 110.
  • The employee must wait until the first day of class to register.
  • The form must be submitted by the employee with the required HR signature to PPCC's Enrollment Services Department prior to the class start date.

CU Health Plan Wellness Program: Be Colorado

CU Health Plan and Be Colorado have teamed up to provide employees with a full spectrum of programs such as Flu Shots, Be Colorado Move, Fitness Center Discounts, and Weight Watchers discounts. These programs are designed to give employees with CU Health plans the information, inspiration and support needed to achieve their best self.

UCCS faculty and staff are eligible for membership at the Gallogly Recreation and Wellness Center at faculty and staff rates. 


Fitness Center Discounts and Weight Loss Programs

University of Colorado Health Plan participants can take advantage of Be Colorado programs. Be Colorado also offers all University of Colorado (CU), University of Colorado Health (UCH), and University Physician’s Inc. (UPI) employees great discounts at a variety of gyms and fitness centers along the front range.

The UCCS IT Helpdesk offers services to faculty and staff for personal as well as university owned devices. Services can be requested online, over the phone or in person in El Pomar Center 108.

Microsoft Office 365

The Office of Information Technology at UCCS offers a Office 365 subscription service for popular Microsoft Office programs free for all active UCCS employees. 

Features include:

  • Full Microsoft Office Applications that are available for up to 5 personal devices including PC's, Macs and Mobile
  • Online versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint for editing and collaboration on the go
  • OneDrive for Business which provides collaboration capability and 1Tb of storage

UCCS offers New Hire Orientation sessions once per month throughout the year. The goal of New Hire Orientation is to make new employees feel welcome and introduce new employees to the culture of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. During orientation, some essential policies and other important information employees need to know will be covered, including a briefing on employee benefits.
