Josep Caballé-Domenech of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic will chat about musical energy. Lucas Schiff from Nimbus 9 will talk about future lighting technology.

ChitChat is a series of mash-up talks on contemporary culture and DIY topics. Each program features two speakers, hands-on and participatory learning, and a whole lot of lively conversation. This program sparks diverse discussions on contemporary life-specifically in the Pikes Peak Region-and features some of the most interesting minds in Colorado Springs. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Josep Caballé-Domenech  is the Music Director of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and General Music Director of the Opera and Staatskapelle Halle-Saale in Germany. He enjoys combining his conducting career with a great symphonic and operatic repertoire. Josep has worked with an impressive list of orchestras, such as the Royal Philharmonic London, and is regular guest at the Aspen Music Festival. Born in Barcelona into a family of musicians, Josep studied piano, percussion, singing and violin. He took conducting lessons with David Zinman, Jorma Panula, Sergiu Comissiona and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He was awarded the Aspen Prize from the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen and selected as "Protégé" in the inaugural cycle of the Sir Colin Davis Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative 2002-03. Lucas Schiff  is the founder and CEO of Nimbus 9, a cloud-based service platform that allows users to control and regulate lighting energy consumption. As a mechanical engineer and entrepreneur with over 16 years of experience in technology development, engineering, business development, and executive management, Lucas has vast knowledge of the lighting industry. He has also worked in numerous startups across industries as well as Fortune 1000 companies, including Yamaha Motor Corporation, Trane, and Honeywell.
