A symposium - Latino/a Artists in the USA - organized by Dr. Andrea Herrera, Professor, UCCS Women's and Ethnic Studies Program, will feature prominent Latino/a artists, art historians, and academics from across the country addressing contemporary aesthetic, artistic, and political issues. Free and open to all.

Artists in this exhibit use Pikes Peak as a starting point for a conceptual conversation about life in the region, presenting works in printmaking, photography, mixed-media sculpture, video, painting, drawing and ceramic installation.

ChitChat is a series of mash-up talks on contemporary culture and DIY topics. Each night features two speakers, hands-on learning (often edible learning!), and a whole lot of lively conversations.

This presentation will consider the status of contemporary portraiture-a genre that continues to inform contemporary interdisciplinary art practice.

Lane Hall & Lisa Moline: Visiting Artists & Critics Series

Lisa Moline and Lane Hall are Milwaukee-based artists included in the current PROTEST! exhibit on display in the UCCS campus gallery. They will give a public talk on the progression of their work together over the past 20+ years.

PERFORMANCE: Resistance and Rebellion

In connection with the 100-year anniversary of the southern Colorado Ludlow Massacre, Ensemble Peak FreQuency of the UCCS Music Program joins with hardcore americana folk artist Tim Eriksen, the Ormao Dance Company, and acoustic-electro device duo Psychoangelo in a performance.
