FERPA: Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
As a student at UCCS, you are in control of your academic records. Although, when working along with your parents, you can help create a solid support system in your journey to graduation. In order for a parent or guardian to be able to gather information about your academic records, the student needs to fill out a FERPA form. We have created visual for you to see exactly where in your Student Portal you can go to complete this form. Once completed, if a parent or guardian calls the university for information, they will need to know the password you used when filling out the form. Once you are signed into your Student Portal, go to Records and Registration. In the drop-down menu, you will see an option for 'FERPA consent to release', and that is where you are able to submit a FERPA form electronically.
