Our capable and friendly assistants will perform the following services for faculty on a first come, first served basis. Please note our copyright policy.
- The FRC can digitize and convert media to alternate formats so long as the use falls under the fair use provisions of the U.S. Copyright Act or the TEACH Act exemptions found in U.S. Copyright Law (Please note: We do not break encryption)
- Fair Use Checklist – The fair use checklist can help insure that the scanning of documents or images or the conversion of media is being done in compliance with the law
- Teach Act Checklist – The TEACH Act checklist can be utilized when considering making digitized films available to students through Blackboard
If you have old or fragile media (VHS tapes, slides, overheads, photographs, drawings, etc.), they can be preserved through a digitization process, making them available for use in Blackboard, Office programs, podcasts, or web posts.
We can convert between many different video and image formats. If your video or image is in a format that does not open on your computer, bring or send the file to us and we will (attempt to) convert it to a common file type like a .mp4 for video or .jpg for images.
