Katherine Mack received her BA in history Magna Cum Laude from Columbia University and her MA and PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Irvine. Her teaching and research focus on cultural rhetorics, public memory, contemporary South Africa, and the rhetorics of family. Her book, From Apartheid to Democracy (Penn State UP, 2014), considers the varied, complex, and enduring effects of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Her current research examines contemporary rhetorics of single motherhood in the United States.
