Students are selected by consensus of the Economics Department faculty and consideration is given to GPA, rigor of courses taken, and service and internship opportunities. This award comes with a monetary gift sponsored by The Bruni Foundation which graciously supports the academic performance of students in the UCCS Economics Department.

Cushman Public Policy Interns
Funded by the generosity of UCCS Economics graduate Elizabeth Cushman to further the education of economics students in public policy research, a student is awarded this internship to better prepare them for life after college – whether in the workplace, graduate school, or as a citizen. Students will be invited to apply during the fall semester each year – application details will be announced in Economics courses.

The following scholarships are administered by the UCCS Scholarship Department and directly benefit Economics students. The application window is open from December 1 – March 1 each year and the application can be found at: https://www.uccs.edu/finaid/types-of-aid/scholarships.
Marion Sondermann Scholarship
For Political Science or Economic majors who have completed a minimum of 30 hours, at least 9 hours of which are Political Science or Economics, and 6 hours in the other field (Political Science or Economics). Qualified students must also have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and a 3.5 GPA in Political Science or Economics, be enrolled in at least 9 hours, and submit a FAFSA by March 1st. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded.
The Hoffman Binger Support Fund
The Hoffman Binger Support Fund offers scholarships to students based on academic merit and financial need. Eligible students are full-time undergraduates majoring in Economics while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. Applicants must demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA by March 1st. Award amount will be $3,000 per academic year.
