Volunteering for SWELL, and specifically for Food Next Door is both fun and incredibly enriching. Each Food Next Door activity, from menu design to working in the kitchen and volunteering at campus health, wellness and sustainability events are all pathways to greater food and nutrition knowledge and cooking skills, integrating locally grown and wholesome ingredients. Volunteers get training with life-long implications. While volunteering with Food Next Door promotes excellent wellbeing while in college, cooking skills, using whole, fresh, and local ingredients, will boost a student's kitchen confidence for college-to-work transitions, potentially affecting more than just ourselves but the environment around us.

Thank you for expressing interest in the SWELL Initiative and Food Next Door! Please consider getting involved whether you want to get your hands dirty at the greenhouse and garden, learn to prepare a variety of different types of raw produce, or explore different foods and flavors you have never experienced.

If you are interested we have many opportunities with Food Next Door for you to volunteer each week:

Monday 4:00pm - 8:00pm - Food Preparation at Roaring Fork (upstairs catering kitchen)

Event Support: Times vary and flexibility is required according to event preparation
