A meal plan is required and included in the Room/Board Package pricing for all housing areas of Summit Village and the Village at Alpine Valley. First year residential students are required to have an Anytime, Unlimited meal plan. This is to ensure that our students are eating, living, and learning in healthful ways. The two residential dining halls are social and educational hubs on campus, and help to build community, encourage healthy living, and enrich the university experience.
Your meal plan and flex dollars will be loaded on your Mountain Lion ID card. Students living in Upper Class-designated housing areas are not required to have a meal plan, but are welcome to purchase any type of plan or Clyde's Cash. This can be done throughout the semester.
AT NO TIME, may a meal plan holder give his/her Lion One Card to another person to gain access. Meal plans are not transferable between students. If a meal plan holder gives their card to another person to gain access into a dining facility, the contract holder's card will be flagged/held and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken. The cash price of the meal will be placed on the holder's plan/account.
No, for your security, we will not manually type in an ID number without an ID present. If your card is not readable you will need to go to the One Card Office and replace it.
Typically, plans start at the dinner meal service on the first day of freshmen move-in in August. Meals end after brunch on the Saturday following final exam week.
For mandatory meal plan holders, there is only one type of plan - an Anytime Plan. For Alpine Village, plans can be changed through the first two weeks of each semester. However, an optional meal plan or Munch Money can be added at any time.
For Anytime plan holders, there is no limit to the amount of swipes that you can use personally for a semester. You are able to dine at either Roaring Fork or The Lodge as often as you'd like. For commuter/optional plans, you have a set number of meals per semester and then they expire.

Your Anytime plan includes 10 guest meals per semester. These can be used at either Roaring Fork or The Lodge. Once you run out of guest meals, you can pay with Flex-dollars, Munch Money, credit cards, or cash.

An Anytime plan comes with $50 in flex that can be used at any DHS location for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Flex dollars expire at the end of each semester, so make sure that you use them.
The Clyde's Cash program is a great way to pay for food on campus. Using cash, check or charge, you place money onto your UCCS Lion One Card. You can then visit any one of our on-campus Dining and Hospitality Services venues, like Café 65, Clyde's, The Lodge, Roaring Fork, Alpine Express, or one of our coffee venues, and purchase food and non-alcoholic beverages with ease. Yes, you can access Net Nutrition from our homepage that displays menus and nutrition information for Residential Dining Locations. We are in the process of adding retail location menus to Net Nutrition. Under venues, you can view current menus for Café 65 and Clyde's.
Given the all-you-care-to-eat nature of the dining halls, food needs to be consumed in the dining room. This policy helps keep operating costs down for all students. You may take a piece of fruit, cookie, or ice cream cone when you leave. If you have a schedule conflict, you can preorder a bag meal online or utilize flex dollars at a retail location. Taking items out of the dining hall, other than those listed, will be treated as theft by the University and handled through the disciplinary process.

DHS operations are typically closed on the Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving week. During winter break, Sanatorium Grounds @ UC and Clyde's have limited hours. During Spring Break, Residential Dining will have limited hours of operation, as will certain retail locations. Please refer to The DHS website, Facebook, The Commode Chronicles, and email for information on upcoming break schedules.
You will receive a partial refund through the first two weeks of the semester, but no refunds after that period.
For students with mandatory meal plans, the cost is rolled into one room and board fee. As such, a prorated refund is possible if you withdrawal from the University. For optional plans, a prorated refund will be issued.
