Minors in Game Design and Development

Game Programming + 3D Minor 

The Game Programming + 3D Minor requires 21 credit hours of coursework. All classes must be completed with a grade of 'C' or better.  A 2.0 minimum GPA is required on all coursework. The student will be responsible for any prerequisites to required courses.  A maximum of 9 hours of transfer work may apply to the minor.

Minor courses are as follows:

CS 1450-3 Data Structures and Algorithms OR GDD 2200-3 Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Implementation
GDD 2150-3 Fundamental Game Design Concepts
CS 3350-3 Introduction to Game Design and Development
CS 4800-3 Computer Graphics
CS 1300-3 Computational Linear Algebra OR MATH 3130-3 Introduction to Linear Algebra

Two other courses selected from programming-intensive GDD 3000 or 4000 level courses or CS 4780 - 3 Advanced 3D Games and Digital Content Creation.  Graduate-level Games and Media Integration Courses may also be used for these courses.

Game Design Minor

The Game Design Minor requires 21 credit hours of coursework.  All classes must be completed with a grade of 'C' or better.  A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required on all coursework.  A maximum of 9 hours of transfer work may apply to the minor.  The student will be responsible for any pre-requisites to required courses. 

CS/GDD 1100-3 Introduction to Game Development
GDD 1200-3 Intro to Programming for Game Developers
GDD 2100-3 Game Design for Diverse Populations
GDD 2150-3 Fundamental Game Design Concepts
GDD 3100-3 User Interface Design for Games
Two other  3000 or 4000 level design intensive GDD courses (6 credit hours).
