Application Process for MA in Communication

This program is designed for students not eligible for Guaranteed Admission. To be considered for Standard Admission to the M.A. Program in Communication, a student must first meet the general requirements outlined by the Graduate School at UCCS

All applications are evaluated by the Graduate Director or the Communication Department Graduate Application Review Committee, if the applicant does not satisfy the requirements listed below:

In order for the Standard Admission Application to be considered, all of the following documents must be provided, using the on line application system.

  • Admission Application Form, accurately and completely filled out
  • Complete Tuition Classification Form for Colorado residency, if the student claims in-state tuition eligibility
  • Official transcripts for each college or university previously attended (an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher is expected
  • A statement indicating educational objectives and professional goals
  • Two Letters of Recommendation from instructors or employers
  • A sample of Scholarly Writing
  • Non-refundable application fee of $60. ($100. for English as a Second Language)

  • Contact the Office of International Affairs for information on English intensive courses // and applying for a visa
