Biographical Information

Dr. Mitchell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Leadership, Research, and Foundations at UCCS.  He has previously taught in numerous levels of education, being a classroom teacher in the elementary, middle and high school levels, and has worked as state-level administrator in both Massachusetts and Colorado.  Dr. Mitchell received his Ph.D. in Global Education from The Ohio State University where he also served as the President's advisor for Middle Eastern education.  He has recently presented at conferences in Iran, Egypt, Brunei and Bahrain and will be continuing his research on rural education and state-level education policy.  His recent work has been published in Action in Teacher Education and Springer's Handbook of Mobile Teaching and Learning.
