Benefits of Campus Connections

uccs fuels success

Campus Connections benefits youth participants and the community. At Campus Connections, youth receive weekly one-on-one mentoring that includes assistance with schoolwork, exploring UCCS’s campus, eating a free healthy dinner, building healthy relationships, and participating in enriching and fun activities.

Campus Connections aims to strengthen life skills, self-confidence, and productive engagement with the community. The goals of the program are to promote the resilience and life success of our youth as well as strengthen community systems in order to better serve youth, their families and the greater community. Additionally, Campus Connections strives to prepare UCCS students to become community-engaged leaders.

Focus on Education

Because Campus Connections is located entirely on a college campus, youth experience firsthand the possibilities of education and the importance of learning.

Campus Connections provides resources and support to help youth increase their academic success and start planning for their future.

Evidence-Based Practices

Campus Connections is grounded in evidence-based practices for youth mentoring and aims to strengthen youth life skills, self-confidence, and productive engagement with the community.

Mentors are trained by Campus Connections staff and receive multi-level support each week.

Counseling Services

Youth who participate in Campus Connections at UCCS, as well as their families, have access to services, including individual counseling, family counseling, couples counseling, parent consultation, play therapy, and assessment services.
